The importance of good water quality and appropriate treatment is often underestimated. It’s essential that irrigation water has the right composition to allow nutrients to be effectively absorbed by plants.

How we ensure optimal water quality

Water quality is a dynamic process that starts with thorough analysis and continues through ongoing monitoring. We follow these steps:

At the start of a project:

  • We take water samples and have them analyzed in a specialized laboratory.
  • We measure hardness, harmful salts (such as chlorine/sodium), nutrient salts, trace elements, and turbidity.
  • Based on the results, we provide targeted advice for optimal water treatment and fertilization.

Throughout the year:

  • Advanced pH and EC sensors continuously measure acidity and the presence of nutrients and harmful salts. The system can automatically adjust when imbalances are detected.
  • At least two sensors are installed to ensure accurate readings. If anomalies occur, we recalibrate the sensors.
  • We take annual soil and water samples and adjust fertilization based on the results.

Water treatment and fertilization

Depending on water quality and plant needs, we can add various elements to “optimize” the water:

  • Nitric acid 38% – Prevents problems by neutralizing bicarbonate in tap water. This is especially important in regions with hard water, such as parts of Germany. High water hardness hinders nutrient uptake (e.g., iron) and can cause pipe blockages from lime or precipitated fertilizers.
  • Nutrients & fertilizers – Based on analysis, we create a balanced fertilization plan so that plants receive the right mix of nutrients for optimal growth.
  • Ciro Cleandrip – A specialized preventive cleaning agent that keeps irrigation pipes clean and prevents buildup.
